Floral Statement

These cards were both colored with Copic markers, and on the thanks card, I brushed a bit of Wink of Stella over the black letters. It gives such a nice subtle shimmer. I stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Copic Blending Card.

Happy Birthday Thinlits

Ever since detailed thinlits became popular, I've been trying different things to adhere them to card fronts. I tired the SU Multipurpose glue applied as sparingly as I could, I tried applying it with eyelash glue applicators, I tried sponging the glue on the back, and I tried the fine tip glue pen. Each of those methods left bits of glue on the outside of the thinlit, and using the glue eraser on a detailed die cut does not work that well for me.  I am FINALLY HAPPY with an adhesive choice! No reservations, no exceptions. The Multipurpose adhesive Sheets work like a charm for me. It's simply a sheet of double sided adhesive. You peel off one side of the backing, place your card stock on it and run it through the Big Shot. Out comes your die cut, ready to peel off the backing and stick it on! In a package there are of 12 sheets of 6" x 12" adhesive sheets.

Crafting Forever

When I saw this card by Shannon Lane, I knew I had to copy her design, it is AMAZINGLY AWESOME! That card convinced me to buy that stamp set. I was on the fence about it, wondering how versatile it would be. I used a sentiment from the Painters' Palette stamp set, but I will be getting the Just Add Text set as I LOVE the sentiments in it, especially Van Gogh's quote, "I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people."

I tried a few things in coloring the pot of paint brushes:
First I used reinkers and an Aqua Painter on glossy paper, but I didn't like the way they blended.

Then I used regular Whisper White and reinkers with an Aqua Painter. I thought this was better, but still wanted a smoother blend. (I haven't quite mastered the art of watercolor yet.)

Next I grabbed my Copic markers, but the blending wasn't quite right... then I realized I was still  using Whisper White. Finally, I had my Copic Blending Card Stock and Copic markers. I liked it the best so that one, so it made it on my  card.

The background technique was done with our new glossy paper and two ink pads, Bermuda Bay and Old Olive. Shannon gives directions on the Stampin' Up! Blog post linked above.

Daisy Against Brick

Fun new products what more can a crafter want? First of all let me tell you the embossing paste is the bomb! The palette knives made it easy to apply, it dried quickly and the masks are awesome! The embossing paste was not time consuming at all. It was very quick and easy. I love the texture the embossing paste gives. I got the idea for this design from another Demo. She used the wood designer series paper and if I remember correctly, it was a kind of white distressed finish. That paper stack is on an UPS truck making its way to my house at this very moment!
