Totally Teabags!

I have been having the MOST FUN making these teabag and cookie holders! More fun than anything else I've made for craft shows. Why are they so much fun? Well, partly because they are easy, and of course they're super cute too! I think a lot of the fun comes from the fact that I have a stamp set that fits the theme so well. I just love themes!! Oh, which stamp set you ask? Tea Shoppe, and there are soooo many possible combinations of how to use these stamps. On some of the cards in the teabag and cookie holder I'm using "tea for two" on the front cut out with the smallest size designer labels die cut, then mounted on the next size with coordinating card stock. On the front of other cards, I'm using one of the small cups stamped in a coordinating ink color and adorned with pearls. Cause what girl has tea without her pearls right? I punch the small cups out with a 1 3/8 inch circle punch, then layer it on coordinating card stock with the decorative label punch. Some have "Just for You" or "you suit me to a tea" stamped and punched with the Modern Label and Word Window Punches. On the inside I've put the "friend's vocabulary" or the "The White Peony Tea Shoppe." Ohhh and I just thought those little flowers would be cute inside a teacup! Or what about teabag folding, or teacup charms, lace or a small punched flower? See what I mean this theme offers so many possibilities. I'm placing an order next week for some designer series paper and some lace ribbon to tie them with, that would be perfect:) I'm getting Twitterpated, Comfort Cafe, Attic Boutique and Berry Blossoms and Letters to Santa. I can't wait to make some more of these little cuties! I found some great tea cookies to put in the bag: Nabisco Social Tea Biscuits. There are around 100 cookies in the package for 3.99 at my grocery store.

I've now made twelve of them and I'm out of patterned paper. It's a good thing I have an order coming next week! I'm going to make bunches more!! I took pictures to show you some of them and instead of one recipe, I included the punches I used and the papers and lace ribbon I've ordered. I have a bunch of teacup charms and things from my old jewelry stash that I just broke out! What fun!!

OH!! Maybe I should arrange these all around a teapot, on a lace tablecloth! oooooh and fresh flowers in a vase too:)

Debi Pippin is the creator of these adorable teabag and cookie holders. I used Chiaki Haverstick's directions for them:  http://stampingpro.com/wp-content/uploads/Teabagandcookieholder2.pdf

Chiaki wrote wonderful directions, but I would add these two steps:

  • Punch two holes close together on either side of the center. Secure cello bag of cookies with a twist tie, then place between the two holes when threading the ribbon through the dsp and tie bow at the top.
  • Card: 3 ¼” x 5” One pocket for card, the other pocket can hold one or two teabags.
