Ghirardelli Treat Holders

I get bored easy so I have to do a few different types of treat holders! Plus, I like a little variety ya know?

  1. Cut 2 x 6
  2. Score 2 7/8 and 3 1/8
  3. Punch both ends with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch
  4. Insert chocolate, tie with ribbon and voila, instant YUM!
  5. To make the punch art lamb, you will need the following punches:

  • 7/8” Scallop Circle
  • 1 ¾” Scallop Circle
  • Regular hole punch
  • Large Oval
  • Word Window
  • Itty Bitty Punch Pack

Tag Topper Punch Nugget Holder

Easter is right around the corner and I've been making some treat holders for my Women's group at church.

2” x 6 ½” then score at 2 ¾” and 3 ¾.”  Then punch both ends

For the side pieces cut cardstock 1 ½” x 3.”  Then score ¼” on two of the sides. Finally cut that 3 inch strip in half so that you end up with two 1 ½” square pieces, one for each side of the holder.

Reinforce your score lines with a bone folder and glue the side pieces as shown.

Place Chocolate in the box portion and voila! Instant cuteness!!
For the Punch Art Bunny, use Large Heart, Large Oval and Itty Bitty Shapes Pack Punches. Sponge with Blushing Bride on ears and cheeks. Add whiskers, eyes and mouth with a black Sharpie. Tie Chevron Ribbon in the ears.

Carole's Color Combos

As I design projects for an upcoming class and a home workshop, I've been looking at pretty color combinations on the Color Coach, Pinterest and other Stampin' Up! blogs. I decided I need to share some of these!

Flower Power

I've been busy having fun preparing for a class this Friday. I like to have some ideas for the ladies to see beyond what we make so I made some additional samples using the same stamp sets.

Creating During the Storm

Thanks to our generator, I was able to stay busy as we were being pounded with ice, snow and an earthquake this week.

Real Red, Pear Pizzazz, Beautifully Baroque and Decorative Dots Embossing Folders, and free digital image colored with Copic Markers.
Rose Red and Wisteria Wonder card stocks, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder and Saturated Canary Digital Stamp colored with Copic Markers.

Mother Nature Shows Us Who's Boss

If you've watched the national news lately you saw where I live. Yep, little ole Aiken, South Carolina was on the national news. Why? Here's a hint:

And one more:
Yep, in one week we've had temperatures in the 60's, snow, an ice storm and an earthquake!!! We were without power for 3 1/2 days but others are still waiting. Aiken county was the hardest hit in the state. The earthquake? A 4.4 quake hit in the middle of all this. Yeah, ya just gotta love Mother Nature. When she gets going she can really do things up right. We got our power back yesterday, and were so happy with Aiken Electric Coop. They really worked day and night to get power back to so many homes and businesses. Thank goodness my husband is a great planner and saver. He bought a generator and converted our fireplace to gas several years ago. We were warm, had lights, fridge and TV. What a blessing. We were also lucky that no trees hit our roof or any windows. However, our beautiful yard looks like a war zone. Neither of us could sleep during the storm. Giant tree limbs cracking under the weight of the ice sounding like cracking rifle shots as more and more trees continued to fall victim to the ice. We still had power Tuesday night, but cringed as we heard the explosion of a couple transformers blowing. Wednesday we lost power and that night the devastation continued, and worsened. So many large trees were totally destroyed. It's really heart breaking, but we are well and healthy and that's what counts. We spent Friday and Saturday with the chain saw and a trailer. Cutting up fallen limbs and hauling them out of the driveway and in one part of the yard. When  you see the enormous piles of debris it looks like we accomplished an awful lot, until you look at all that's left in the yard. Pictures below of just one part of our yard. We will be digging out and cleaning up for weeks to come.

Yesterday in the midst of a huge tangle of branches, I saw a patch of daffodils just about to burst open.

Our largest tree.

Letter Envy

I remember making all kinds of cool folds for stationery with my elementary school students way back in the day. You know the prehistoric times when we didn't have die cut machines or embossing? I even still have a VHR tape showing all these cool things to do with kids. When I looked at a blog the other day I just squealed!!!! This is one of the things I made with my kids after a writing assignment. They wrote letters for their parents and I wanted them to be special. Our envelopes were crudely shaped, out of wrapping paper I think. We didn't have a paper cutter, so we used a ruler and scissors. I know <gasp!> right? I loved what she did with hers, using the FREE paper you can get during Sale-A-bration, so I just had to make one too. Using the envelope punch board just made it a snap! Now who made this cute envelope thingy? That's a very good question, and I am so glad  you asked. The answer is... I dunno. I could have sworn it was Lyssa Zwolenek. but I just looked all over her blog and I can't find it. I looked at my Pinterest boards and didn't see it there either. So maybe it was Lyssa and she put it on Splitcoast or Stampin' Connection. Leonie Schroder has one very similar on her blog, but I really think it was Lyssa. Geeze! Anway isn't it the cutest thing? Here is mine below and I can't wait to show it to the girls in my stamping group! Thanks Lyssa or Leonie or whoever it was. lol

EDITED: It was Lyssa Zwolenek who first made this cute letter envy.
