Tre` Chic Flowers

Inked and Tiled is such a pretty stamp set. Here the card base is Pebbled Path, along with Petal Pink, Basic Black and Basic White card stocks. I stamped the flowers in Petal Pink, then used a sponge dauber to add Calypso Coral ink to the base of the flower and Pebbled Path to the stems. Then I added Pebbled Path leaves stamped at the bottom. I didn't have any black enamel dots, so I used a Sharpie marker on some pearl Basic Jewels. I adhered the stamped layer to a Petal Pink layer. For the black trim I used the spiral notebook die from the Gorgeously Made bundle. To make the banners at the bottom, I used one inch strips of Petal Pink cardstock and embossed with three random embossing folders. Then I flagged the ends.

Copic Marker Colors to SU Colors

Whew! I'm finally finished matching Copic Marker Colors to SU Colors. I had a large selection of Copic Markers when Stampin' Blends alcohol ink markers came out. I bought a few Stampin' Blends so that customers could try them out in classes. They are a great affordable choice, and it's wonderful that they match the inks and papers that Stampin' Up! carries. However, a couple customers and I already had lots of Copics. So for us, it's very helpful to have a chart to match Copic to SU colors. There are a couple people online who have been posting charts, but they gave more than one choice for many colors, and more importantly, I didn't agree with some of their selections. So..... I sat down with my Copics, the color charts from Copic and the lists that others had already compiled.

I'm done!

I'm satisfied!! Lol

I'm happy!!!

This chart and the already filled I'm color charts came from Copic. I emailed them and asked if they had color charts. They responded and sent them to me.

Would you like a copy? Copic to SU Color Chart

If you don't already have a Stampin' Up! Demo, I'd love to be your Demo! There's a link to my online store in the sidebar to the right.

Pink & Green, Yellow & Blue

I love cupcakes don't you?  I'm imagining that this is a strawberry cupcake, yum!! It's been on my mind to make a strawberry cake, but I'm trying to eat healthy so I haven't made it. Maybe during football season, although I'm not sure how strawberry cake goes with Clemson football! lol

I used the coordinating punch and assorted circle dies to get the layers seen in the card. I don't have Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Blend, but I have bunches and bunches of Copic Markers, so I colored with those.

Circular Birthday!

The Circle Sayings bundle is pretty cool. I'm glad to have a new large circle punch as my old 2-1/2" Circle Punch broke, so this new 2-3/8" punch is great. I also used the Countryside Corners Bundle and the Timeworn Type embossing folder.

On this card I used yellow, black and blue on white. I didn't have any black enamel dots, so I used a Sharpie to color some that were light green. The other black accents are the black bakers twine and black Memento ink. I colored the stamped image with watercolor pencils and used a blender pen to smooth out the colors.

Sneak Peek Sept - Dec Catalog

This technique is called a "fractured card" or a "shutter card," because it resembles the shutter on a camera lens. I've used the Magical Meadow Bundle and coordinating Designer Paper , Winter Meadow. The cardstock colors are Lost Lagoon and Blueberry Bushel which are found in the DSP.

This card has a 4 x 5-1/4 inch piece of embossed cardstock instead of using patterned paper. The square shape in the middle of the card was created with a piece of patterned paper.

Materials:

  • Card Base 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 scored @ 4-1/4

  • 2-3/8 x 2-3/8 cardstock square. Stylish Shapes Dies work well for this if you like.

  • four cardstock strips that are 1/4 x 5-1/2 same color as card base.

Designing and Prepping the card:

  • Start by choosing a piece of patterned paper and cut it to 4 x 5-1/4 inches.

  • Next, choose your color scheme based on the patterned paper. For example, I chose Lost Lagoon and white as my color scheme for the first card. For the second card I used Lost Lagoon and Blueberry Bushel.

  • I created the card base and the 1/4 inch strips in Lost Lagoon.

  • Cut 4 pieces of Lost Lagoon  cardstock measuring 1/4 x 5-1/2 inches.

  • You will also need a square shape measuring 2-3/8 x 2-3/8 inches or less. The smaller the square shape, the more defined the fractured look of the card will be. You can also use the 2nd to the largest square from the Sylish Shapes Dies.

Card Construction:

  1. Adhere the square shape to the center of the patterned paper so it creates a diamond.

  2. Next, adhere the 1/4 inch strips around the square shape to create the fractured design. Begin anywhere on the square and line up a strip beginning at the edge of the square.

  3. Rotate counter clockwise to the next side. Align the strip up next to the edge of the previous strip and let the strip run off the edge of the cardstock layer.

  4. Continue rotating counterclockwise, butting up to the previous strip and let the strip run off the edge.

To Review: It's as easy as 123.

  1. Glue a strip on the edge of the square allowing it to run off the card base.

  2. Rotate card counter clockwise

  3. Butt the strip up to the edge of the previous strip allowing the strip to run off the edge of the card base.

Fall/Winter Catalog Sneak Peek

I love old world Santas and I have several on the tree and mantle each Christmas. This stamp set got my attention immediately when I saw the catalog. It's simply called "Saint Nicholas." The dies make a great fireplace or a rooftop chimney. I colored the Santas with Stampin' Blends markers, and on the inside I used watercolor pencils and a blender pen to soften and make the color creamy. You'll find the Blender Pends on page 137 of the annual catalog. They're sold in packs of three for $13.00. They last quite a long time and are used with the watercolor pencils and the Stampin' Write Markers.

Circle Sayings

  • I stamped the shells four times on the Basic White layer in black. Then  used the tiny leaf stamp from the Lasting Joy stamp set to stamp randomly in the four colors listed below.
  • Next, I stamped the sentiments in Boho Blue and embossed the entire layer with Timeworn Type Embossing Folder.
  • I stamped the sun and wave in black and punched out the circle. To layer behind it, I used a slightly larger circle from the Circle Dies in Boho Blue. I used watercolor pencils in Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight.
  • Then, I colored the white ribbon with a Stampin Blends marker.
