A Tip and A Card

I have the best tip for you!! This video is from Lisa Curcio, who figured out that you can revive your empty Clear Wink of Stella to get some more use out of it. When you think it is empty, there is still some glittery shimmer left inside and you can add alcohol to use up the rest of that wonderful shimmery stuff. Check out the video below for how to do it:)

Christmas

You know those pieces of die cuts and stamped images that we all have left over? I finally used some from LAST YEAR! lol This card started out as an experiment.... I was designing cards for an upcoming class.  The gold thread didn't pop like I thought it would and I needed something more. I pulled the pine bows, bow and pinecones from by box of orphan pieces and voila! I actually like this card!

Stamping Class

Great Fellowship and Fun today! I passed on some tips for getting blocks to cling and a few people asked me to post it.

TIPS
  • To get stamps to cling better to acrylic blocks:
    • clean often with Windex or Novus #1 Polish (blue label) antifog, antistatic, dust repellent (excellent for Paper Trimmer and MISTI too)
    • press block down on stamp for a count of ten - this allows air to get pushed out

Musical Christmas

I LOVE LOVE this stamp set!!!!

For the shadow effect behind the mandolin, use coordinating framelit to cut a mandolin out of Cherry Cobbler. Cut in half and adhere to back of stamped and cut mandolin. Leave a gap in the center. You will have no shadow in a small space at the top and bottom of your finished piece. It won't be noticeable to the overall design.

I have two cards to share with you today. The background on the Christmas card is a emboss resist. I stamped the stars in Versamark and clear embossed. Then I sponged Night of Navy over top for the night sky. I cut a window out, then adhered the Bethlehem town on to a piece of  Pool Party. That was then adhered to the back of the background piece. The ribbons are leftovers from SALE-A-BRA-TION. Any glittery ribbon would be pretty.
I colored the flowers with Copic markers. But GUESS WHAT???? Stampin' Up! has developed some new alcohol ink markers! They will be available soon. Demos are currently providing further product testing before they are released. They are half the price of Copics and the color blending system is much easier for stampers.

Display Card

This is a bridge fold card.  I got the directions from an Australian demo Bronwyn Eastley.

Aussie Adorables
Tesla stood like this intently studying something for several moments. When I walked over to see what she was studying I found it was an anole sunning himself on the deck. Tesla looked at me as if to say "Mom, I can get it just let me out."
