Scraps Scattered Across My Desktop

As I looked across my desktop this afternoon, it was scattered with bits and pieces of projects that I hated to throw away because they might be useful on something else. This is the something else. I just played around, no formal layout plan was followed, just play.

A Little Fishy and a A Lot of Heat

It's hotter than blue blazes here in South Carolina. Triple digits and ultra high humidity. Bleck! This first card is for my son, who is an avid fisherman. The second card is a take on Catherine Pooler's "Floating Inlaid and Embossed Die Cuts." You can see her video here: http://catherinepooler.com/2015/05/floating-inlaid-and-embossed-die-cuts/ I did not pop mine up or use window plastic, cause I'm out of window plastic. Gasp! I would like to try this again though, using the plastic and popping up the inlaid layer.

As usual, our group had such fun today, and we got to meet someone new! Flutterby!

I adore this new Brick Wall embossing folder!! To get the mortar lines, I used a brayer to apply ink to the side of the folder that has the word 'Sizzix' on it. To add some dimension, I curved the wings of the flutterby with my bone folder. Lost Lagoon and Mint Macaron look soooo pretty together, I've used this combination a lot. Gluing all the little pieces on the last card was very tedious, but I thought the look was pretty.

New Stuff and a Boo Hoo

Just Playing around with some new things and some old. My Big Shot went cur flooey today. Thank goodness I am married to Mr. Fix-it. He took it all apart, did some stuff and determined that the bearing was shot, so he ordered a new one. I guess that poor machine gets a lot  of use with Stampin' Up! classes and Card Ministry at Church.  I ordered a new one and once he has repaired the old one, I'll take it to Church and leave it there so I won't have to lug it back and forth twice a month.

I got the idea for this design from card design Lynn Weiss
