Accordion Fold
I learned how to make this fold from Tami White and couldn't wait to try it out using our scenic DSP. This paper is called Beautiful Gallery, and has some stunning artwork in it. You feel like you're in a museum when using it, but let that stop you from using it! I accidently ordered 2 packs of it and I am so glad of that happy accident:)

Kintsugi Kreations!
Hello! Happy Monday:) It's raining again here in the deep south, and our flowers are growing like CRAZY!
I think I mentioned this before, but this is my FAVORITE stamp set!!!!!! The mended gold veins become a celebration of imperfection instead of hiding it. I love the whole philosophy behind the artistic repair of broken pottery. Kintsugi treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. People should treat each other that way. Celebrating imperfections, that's such a beautiful thought. We are who we arem because of our imperfections, they make us the person we have become.
This stunning product suite is more unique than anything I've seen in the paper art industry, and I'm so happy to be able to create with it. If you'd like to include this little note in your cards, here is a FREE PDF for you to print out.

This board illustrates the stamps and dies found in this bundle, as well as the embossing folder and some of the DSP which can be cut out with the dies. This card uses the DSP as well as stamped and diecut images applied to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals for a unique artistic look. The envelope has a stamped bowl and cherry blossoms.  This is an advancd level card. It took a while to make but the results are so worth it. The Shoji screen is made with a gate fold opening and the panes were done with a Sharpie marker. Measuring to get the lines even and symetrical was a challenge! On the inside, the screen idea was repeated with Vellum for a see through look. Diecut cherry blossoms complete the look of the outside peeking in.  |

Notes & Totes
This card is similar to the one we made at my New Catalog Launch. It's stepped up a bit in the background. I used Blending Brushes to create sky, water and sand on a Basic White panel.

Waves come crashing to grey sullen shores.

Cascading and caressing each grain of sand,

High above, a seagull soars high.

Battling high against darkened cloud,
In a wind that blows fiercely, flying graceful and proud.
Beneath, the sand is soft and warm.
Sculpted by nature, it's weathered the storm.
A passionate battle between calmness and rage,
A new chapter's beginning; don't turn the last page.
I listen again to the whispering waves,
Music of nature calming and brave.
Its power unknown, its stillness untamed,
Mysterious and magical, a treasure earth claims.

Happy Mistakes
How many times have you just finished a card only to drop it on an inkpad? I've used splatter stamps and diecuts to cover up stray ink marks and even used my trusty Mono Sand Eraser. Today, it was a dooszy of an ink smear and I grabbed some scrap DSP that coordinated with the Inspiring Imperfections Bundle and covered up the mess in TWO PLACES! I'm glad that the smears weren't in the middle of the card lol!
Oh! I've got something else fun to share with you too. See the branch on the second card? That diecut was designed to be the branch for those flowers AND the "join" in the Kintsugi method of pottery repair. If you diecut it out of gold foil, it looks awesomely authentic as a Kintsugi method of repair. Don't forget I made a PDF of little notes explaining what Kintsugi is for your card recipients. Kintsugi
It's really hard to pick a favorite from the new catalog, but this just may be mine. I just love the fact that it is so unique. I've not seen anything done with this Japanese technique. So first of all what is Kintsugi?
Kintsugi ("golden joinery") is a traditional Japanese technique of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer. The mended gold veins become a celebration of imperfection instead of hiding it. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.
Stampin' Up! has an entire product suite designed around this beautiful art form. There's a stamp set, dies, DSP, Embellishments, and an Embossing Folder.
As you can see below, I wrote a brief description of Kintsugi, and I plan to put it on the inside of each card I make with this gorgeous bundle. All With DSP
These cards show off the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper. There is very little stamping, so I took extra care to mat the inside and voila, stunning:)
