Like any avid reader, I collect books and adore anything related to books! So it's no surprise that I have always enjoyed pretty bookmarks and have been making them for as long as I can remember. I smile thinking about my parents who grew up during the depression. They often used kleenex, an old envelope, or anything handy for their bookmarks. They fostered my love of reading at a very early age, so these bookmark cards are another way I honor them. By creating them with my own two hands, I'm not contributing to the glut of Chinese manufactured stuff we seem to be spending so much money on these days.
Make a bookmark card or two, or three... or lots and send them to friends and relative for a lovely way to let them know you are thinking of them. I've recently sent bookmark cards to my Great Nieces and now I'm going to send some to the ladies in my Bible Study.
These two bookmark cards were made the ultra gorgeous Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper. The Spotlight on Nature dies provide all the additional embellishments needed for a beautiful card for a friend to cherish.
2 teaspoons Glycerin 4 teaspoons
Distilled Water 1/4 teaspoon Isopropyl, Denatured or Rubbing
Alcohol
Mix all ingredients together and place
them in a small glass container. You can pull out the tips of the pens
with pliers or tweezers.
Put the tips of the pens in the
solution and let them soak for about 5 minutes. Put the tips back
into the blender pens and you’re good to go.
To make it last longer, take the
blender pen apart and refill the fiber shaft. Gently remove
the tip with tweezers and set it aside. Next, use
one of
the methods below:
Tap the pen on your work surface
a few times, and a white plastic-covered, fiber-filled tube should
come out. If it won't come all the way out, gently drip bits
of the Glycerin mixture into the pen shaft until no more mixture
will go in.
Use an eye dropper to drip the
mixture into the pen shaft
Use a veterinary syringe
You must use Distilled Water
because it has no impurities. Tap water will cause your pens
to become moldy inside.
Rubbing alcohol is a
generic term that can be either denatured alcohol or isopropyl
alcohol.
Dual-tipped pens filled with
specialized solution for easier blending. Use with Basic White
Cardstock or Shimmery White Cardstock and Classic Stampin’ Ink. 3
acid-free, xylene-free pens.
We had our monthly Stampin' Class today and it was such a joy to be with my stamping friends! I always have a good time with them:) We did it all: heat embossing, dry embossing, watercoloring, coloring with Stampin' Blends and we played with the new Metallic Rub-Ons. Those would be so pretty on Christmas cards!! Stamp & Die Bundles as well as Patterned Papers listed above each photo are linked to my online store for ease in ordering.
The clues to this mystery were given on Thursday, and here is the solution! This fun fold is quick and easy! Instead of stamping images, I fussy cut flowers from the patterned paper, then used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop them up. I love how it turned out! This card has a pocket for the sentiment, where you could also put a gift card. A link to the PDF tutorial and the video tutorial are below.

All is right in my world, I'm in my craft room creating like crazy, and the dog is under my desk in her favorite hidey hole. She's the third Australian Sheppherd we've had and they've all been the most wonderful pets! Tesla is super smart, the other day, our UPS man told his trainee that she could read on a 5th grade level lol!
Here is one of my latest cards. I'm currently working on four cards. I'm getting ready for a class on Tuesday, and have another project in the works for a Mystery Stamping Event that I need to film for Monday. I love staying busy!
This card was made using the Framed Scenes bundle. The image was stamped in Black Stazon, and colored with watercolor pencils and a tiny paint brush. Cardstock colors are Basic White, Gray Granite and one layer of Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper. Another layer was dry embossed with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder. The leaves were diecut with Beautiful Motifs dies. I stamped the first layer of Gray Granite, with the Elements of Texts stamp set.

I just love how this card turned out! The colors in this pattern of Designer Series Paper really sings to me. I'm a big fan of Petal Pink, then to pair it with Pecan Pie, oh my! [big swoon] My all time favorite color combos are blue and green, (actually blue and anything lol) pink and orange, and pink and brown. While I'm not picky about what shade of blue, because I love them all, I am picky about the shade of pink that I like. This pink with it's warm tones and a whisper of orange really does it for me, as does certain hot pink shades like Melon Mambo. When I was a little tomboy er little girl, my Mom kept pushing pink on me. I was not a fan of pink, much to her consternation, I adored BLUE. So it is high praise if I like a shade of pink.
This card was made using two of my most favorite card sets: Elements of Text and Textured Notes. I simply adore, doors, windows, flowers and text images for stamping. They get me every time! But no flowers today, just texture:) I was inspired by Mary Deatheridge in making this card.
Customers who place orders with me in the month of July will receive a full tutorial for free.

I'm not sure what to call this fold, I saw a similar card done by Jilli Bling, but I kinda did my own weird fold on the inside. It started out as a Z fold, then I wasn't happy with that. I needed more panels to show off the scene in the Designer Series Paper, and I wanted the front to be a full 4-1/4" x 5-1/2." So I just kept playing around until I got the paper folding to do what I wanted it to do lol! I guess we could call this an M Fold.
