I learn all kinds of interesting things on the Stampin' Up!
Demo board. For instance there are two types of cookies, a macaron and a
macroon. I didn't know there was a difference. Because of our new color, Mint
Macaron, I now know.
Macarons are made of almond meringue cookies sandwiched
together with buttercream, ganache, or jam.
macaron is pronounced Mack-ah-ron (sounds like the name Ron)
A coconut macaroon is
a drop cookie made of egg whites, sugar,
sweetened condensed milk, and coconut. They are most commonly dipped in
chocolate, as well. This style of macaroon is most commonly found in Italian
bakeries, and in many bakeries throughout the U.S.
macaroon is pronounced Mack-ah-roon (sounds like kangaroo).
