New Baby Wipe Technique with Unbounded Love

I've used baby wipes and reinkers before, but not like this. It's so much fun! I used hot press watercolor paper, because it is smoother. The watercolor paper soaks up the ink and allows the colors to blend. On the samples below, I used the NEW Unbounded Love bundle and the Online Exclusive Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder.

  1. For this technique, you need watercolor paper, baby wipes and 2-3 colors of reinkers.
  2. Loosely fold a baby wipe twice and sprinkle with 5-6 drops of reinkers to form a blob of color.
  3. Then simply swipe it onto the watercolor paper. One baby wipe has enough ink to make 2-3 cards! You just don't want to waste all that inky goodness, you know what I mean?

Faux Silk with New Bundle

For this card I used the Faux Silk technique with the NEW Unbounded Love bundle that will be available in the NEW catalog tomorrow! Yay!

I've seen two different versions of the faux silk technique. For the card below, the images were stamped on Basic White cardstock, then the entire surface was covered with glue stick. Then white tissue paper was crinkled and spread out on the surface leaving plenty of wrinkles.

For this card stamp directly on the tissue paper and allow it to dry. Once dry, gently crinkle up the tissue paper. Then cover a piece of Whisper White card stock with glue stick and  gently smooth your tissue paper onto the card stock, leaving some crinkles. Let dry and then trim excess tissue paper from around card stock.

Simply Zinnias Encore

The Simply Zinnias bundle is so beautiful in bright colors. I posted a flower pot card full of zinnias last week. This card has blackberry Bliss as the background to more bright colored flowers. The flowers are done in Highland Heather with Pumpkin Pie and Lemon Lolly centers. The flower buds are done with Berry Burst and one of the new in colors, Petunia Pop. The leaves and stems are Old Olive and Lemon Lime Twist. The tiny flower cluster is Very Vanilla. On the envelope and inside I stamped that bouquet of zinnias in Petunia Pop ink, then used a sponge dauber in Old Olive to color the leaves.

Zany Zinnias

The Simply Zinnias bundle is from the Online Exclusives. I love detailed flower dies, and this one is gorgeous! It's also great because it doesn't have as many fussy little pieces to cut out as some other sets have had.

The first card is a fun fold, made with Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo, and Lemon Lolly. The DSP is from SALE-A-BRATION.

This second card is a pull out with an easel attached to the back for display. I used the tutorial Barb Mulikin make a couple years ago, substituting the Simply Zinnias dies and adding an easel on the back. My easel is 2 x 8-1/2 scored at 3 in., 6 in., 7 in., and 8 inches. Fold the score lines the same way, and glue the 1/2" tab at the end. Then, fold the score line next to that the other direction so you have a mountain fold for the standing part. Glue it on to the back of the card and you're done.
