String Theory

Our Stamping Fellowship met today and we did three great cards.

This first technique is the MOST FUN EVER!! You never know what you're gong to get and it sooooo simple:) There are written directions below, but here is a video if you'd like to see the process.

Stamps	Tiny Tiny Wishes, Awesomely Artistic
Card Stock	Shimmery White, Whisper White, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo
Ink	Flirty Flamingo, Brusho Crystal Powders
Embellishments	Linen Thread
Tools	Classic Label Punch, notebook, paint palette

1. Peekaboo Peach card base: 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 and score at 4-1/4

2. Whisper White 4 x 5-1/4 for inside

3. Flirty Flamingo scraps, stamp greeting and punch out

4. Place Gamboge, Brilliant Red, and Mossy Green Brusho Powders in three adjacent

sections of paint palette, then add 5-6 drops of water in each

5. 16" of Linen Thread - twirl and soak one end in Gamboge, then the next section in

Red, and the last section in moss...... BUT be sure to leave a tail to pull from that

has no color on it.

6. Small piece of adhesive on two facing pages in notebook. Place two pieces of

Shimmery White 4 x 5-1/4 on top of one and stack other paper on top.

7. Slowly pick up saturated thread and lay down on one paper in loopy loop shapes

with the tail of the thread hanging off the bottom of notebook page.

8. Close notebook and gently press down, then holding one hand on top of notebook,

pull thread out QUICKLY. Open notebook and reveal fancy schmancy abstract

artwork.

9. Inside and Envelope - stamp dragonfly

Ink	Cherry Cobbler, Memento Tuxedo Black, Call Me Clover

Card base: Basic Black cut 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 score at 4-1/4
Whisper White cardstock 4 x 5-1/4
2-1/2 x 3-1/2 red DSP with apron Framelit
2 x 4 black DSP with Framelits for pocket, apron ties and neck thingy
1 x 2 Basic Black rolling pin Framelit for base of grill
1-3/4 Circle Punch from Basic Black and cut in half for grill
3/8 Circle Punch from Smoky Slate for the hinge thingy on grill
Grilling utensils from Silver Foil
Stamp grass along bottom in Call Me Clover
Inside and Envelope stamp grass in Call Me Clover

Card Stock	Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Marina Mist

1. Very Vanilla card base: cut 4-1/4 x 11 score at 5-1/2

2. 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 Very Vanilla - Use painter's tape (cut to be more narrow) and 'stamp' length-wise on Sahara Sand ink pad. Then 'stamp' on bottom of cardstock. Repeat with Marina Mist and Soft Sky.

3. Use Stamparatus to stamp greeting and chair frame in Early Espresso, then chair covering in Night of Navy

4. Adhere 3 Glitter Dots

5. Adhere 4-1/4 x 1-1/2 strips of Marina Mist and Island Indigo along the bottom of card base.

6. Pop entire card front with Stampin' Dimensionals and adhere Linen Thread bow

7. Inside and Envelope stamp glass and flowers

Kaleidoscope Cards

I remember making kaleidoscopes when scrapbooking kid pages back in the 90's. Then in Grad school, using Photoshop to make kaleidoscopes from photographs for photography class. Now they're back again, only this time with rubber stamps.

They look really complicated, but they are not - I promise:) You need a pretty simple template made with two squares, then you just stamp, rotate cardstock, and repeat.... then voila! Instant coolness! Let me give you a piece of advice, don't spend money buying a template, you can just make your own.

For the first one I made, I used square framelits. That took any measuring out of the equation and sped up the process. I made a few with that template, then I decided I needed a bigger one. It was not hard to cut a square, trace and cut out the center on my Stampin' Trimmer. When it came time to stamp, my Stamparatus made things super simple. You can make a template out of plastic, or just use cardstock like I did. Take a look at my samples below, then see three videos that I watched to get me started.

Stampin' Up! Color Inventories

I've been busy updating my color files and I want to share with my customers and fellow Demos.

The Color Coach cards are from Stampin' Up! What a WONDERFUL resource!! You can print them on white cardstock, punch holes and slip on a ring.

I wanted the blank cards on the back so that my ring of cards would not be so thick. So I printed mine on computer paper and mounted to the retiring chocolate chip cardstock.
