Traditions of Christmas

 

I've made another card with this gorgeous Designer Paper called Traditions of Christmas, it coordinates with the Christmas Greenery bundle.

 I sure do love the colors in this Traditions of  Christmas Designer Series Paper! I like traditional Christmas colors with a bit of the unexpected, and that's just what this paper delivers. The Secret Sea with Real Red just makes my heart sing:)

Four in One Technique

 This is a fun technique that allows you to make four cards at once. I call it the "Four in One Technique." Yeah, very clever name right? lol  To make it, start off with a 10″ x 7-1/2″ sheet of cardstock that you score down the middle horizontally and vertically. Then you stamp around the edges In a controlled/random pattern. Think collage-ish style as you select stamps. Fellow demo, Mary Mary Nabe used the textured notes stamp set when she did this technique. Those turned out beautifully, but I needed Christmas cards so looked through my stash both current and retired and selected four stamps from different sets. I used the ink colors found in the Designer Paper. After you've stamped around the edges of each quadrant, you trim right on the score lines which gives you four card layers. You adhere these layers to card bases then add a greeting. And voila, you have a pretty card. To jazz mine up a bit, I REALLY decorated the inside, and the envelope flap as well.

Ink Pads: Secret Sea, Real Red, Old Olive, Pool Party

• Secret Sea card base: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2,″ score at 4-1/4″ on long side, fold in half.

• Designer Paper (red dotted print) 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"

• Basic White for stamping:10″ x 7-1/2″

  • score in half on the long side @ 5" then on short side @ 3-3/4"

  • stamp, then cut on score lines (5″ x 3-3/4″) to make four cards

• Basic White 2" x 3-1/4" Story Label punch

• Real Red 2" x 3-1/4" cut with Lasting Label punch

• Basic White inside: 5-1/4″ x 4″

• Designer Paper for inside; 3-3/4" x 5"

• Designer Paper for envelope flaps

This week I have two videos! This fun fold card displays so nicely with no propping up! I've shown two different versions here, one using the Christmas Greenery bundle and the other using the Pretty Florals bundle. This fun fold is not at all difficult to make, although there are several layers to cut, but the end result is SO WORTH it!
