Tanzanite Flower

 This stamp set is one of my favorites. It's classic and so versatile. Here, I've used Orhid Oasis my favorite color! Blue with a hint of purple, Like Tanzanite, my favorite gemstone.

Preparation:

• Crumb Cake card base 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 scored at 4-1/4

• Orchid Oasis 4-1/8 x 5-3/8

• Basic White 4 x 5-1/4

• Basic White 5 x 2-3/4 - for stamping flower and leaf/stem

• Vellum 4 x 5-1/4

• Crumb Cake 1 x 4 and embossed with Parisian embossing folder

• Orchid Oasis 4 x 5-1/4 for inside Panel

• Basic White 3-3/4 x 5 for inside Panel

• Crumb Cake 1 x 4 and embossed with Parisian embossing folder for bottom inside

• Orchid Oasis 1/2 x 4 for bottom inside

• Scrap Basic White 1 x 3 - for greeting

Assemble Card:

1. Adhere 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 Orchid Oasis panel to card front

2. Use Parisian Embossing Folder on 4 x 5-1/4 Vellum and on both 1 x 4 pieces of Crumb Cake.

3. Basic White 4 x 5-1/4 – Create your own DSP by randomly stamping the large flower in Orchid Oasis ink. Stamp off (second generation) when using the background flower, then 1^st generation when stamping the detail flower on top.

4. Amongst the flowers, stamp the leaf from Artistically Inked in Pear Pizzazz ink, both 1^st and 2^nd generation.

5. To complete your DSP, stamp the dots from Artistically Inked in Crumb Cake a few random places around the paper.

6. Using Glue Dots, adhere the embossed Vellum on top of the DSP layer you created. Then adhere on top of the Orchid Oasis layer on the card front.

7. Adhere the embossed 1 x 4 Crumb Cake strip in the middle of the card front.

8. Stamp Happy Birthday in Black ink on scrap white and diecut with rectangle scallopy shape. Adhere to the right side of the Crumb Cake strip.

9. Stamp Flower in Orchid Oasis ink 5 x 2-3/4 Basic White. Background flower in 2^nd generation and the detail flower in 1^st generation. Stamp leaf/stem in Pear Pizzazz ink, then diecut both pieces.

10. Stamp Happy Birthday in Black ink on 1 x 3 Basic White then diecut.

11. Adhere flower to the middle left of the card front. Use Dimensionals for the flower.

12. Tie bow with Linen Twine and attach with Glue Dot to the stem of the flower.

13. Adhere a few Opal Rounds to complete the card front.

14. Adhere the 4 x 5-1/4 Orchid Oasis for inside panel on the inside.

15. Adhere the 3-3/4 x 5 Basic White on top of the Orchid layer of the inside.

16. Adhere the other 1 x 4 embossed Crumb Cake piece to the bottom the inside.

17. Use the smallest flower to stamp in Orchid Oasis ink on the 1/2 x 4 Orchid Oasis cardstock to make a decorative paper to adhere to the top portion of the embossed Crumb Cake Layer.

August Card Ministry

 We made some cards for the church staff, discussed restaurants, and had fun today! Below are three cards we made and I can just imagine the reactions of the people who receive them. We've had such wonderful feedback from members of the congregation who get handmade cards. And you know it's a God Thing when a retired Coast Guard Officer gets one with a nautical theme. His wife said he had it on the mantle for the longest time! We are truely blessed to be able to share this gift with others. I've got some cardstock in retired colors that we used this time (Misty Moonlight and Bumblebee) these designs would work with other colors as well.

Materials:

• Cup of Tea Bundle

• Approaching Perfection stamp set

• Tea Boutique DSP 4 x 5-1/4

• Tea Boutique DSP 2 x 2-3/4 for tea cup diecut

• Inks: Orchid Oasis, Fresh Freesia, Garden Green, Crushed Curry

• Purple Posy card base 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 score @ 4-1/4

• 4-1/8 x 2-7/8 Orchid Oasis cardstock

• 2-3/4 x 4 Basic White cardstock for stamping greenery

Instructions:

1. Fold Purple Posy card base and reinforce score with bone folder.

2. Adhere DSP to card front.

3. Adhere 4-1/8 x 2-7/8 Orchid Oasis cardstock on top of DSP.

4. Punch out greeting on Crushed Curry cardstock with Washi Label punch and adhere to top right of 2-3/4 x Basic White cardstock.

5. Stamp greenery on 2-3/4 x Basic White cardstock just below the punched greeting.

6. Stamp two clusters of flowers on 2 x 2-3/4 Basic White cardstock, one cluster in Fresh Freesia and the other in Orchid Oasis, then diecut.

7. Glue 5 diecut flowers on top of the stamped greenery, some of each color.

8. Diecut the tea cup from 2 x 2-3/4 Orchid print DSP.

9. Diecut larger teabag from 1-1/4 x 1-1/2 Basic White cardstock, then stamp enjoy on it with Orchid Oasis ink.

10. Place a glue dot inside the diecut cup at the top, then attach the string to it. Adhere tea cup just below the flowers leaving string hanging out.

11. Place a glue dot on the back of the teabag diecut, place over string on the cup.

12. On the inside, stamp the tea cup with leaf in Fresh Freesia ink and the sentiment in Orchid Oasis ink.

Instructions:

1. Fold Misty Moonlight card base and reinforce score with bone folder.

2. Adhere the 4 x 5-1/4 DSP to the card front

3. Adhere the Vellum to the middle/left on top of the DSP, apply glue only to the middle so it won't show through.

4. Stamp the wolf in Basic Gray ink, on 2-1/8 x 2-7/8 Gray Granite cardstock.

5. Adhere stamped wolf to 2-1/4 x 3 Misty Moonlight cardstock, then adhere both of those to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

6. Inside: 4 x 5-1/4 Basic White – stamp bear in Basic Gray ink and sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink.

Instructions:

1. Fold Bumblebee card base in half and score with bone folder.

2. Adhere 4 x 5-1/4  Early Espresso cardstock to card front.

3. Emboss 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 Basic White cardstock with embossing folder, then use Blending Brush to apply a very light bit of Soft Seafoam ink on the raised portions.

4. Adhere embossed layer on top of Espresso layer.

5. Adhere Cork Paper on embossed layer, towards the bottom.

6. Stamp birthday greeting in Early Espresso ink on 1 x 1-3/4 Basic White cardstock, then diecut with Holly Berry dies.

7. Adhere greeting diecut on left side of cork paper.

8. Stamp flowers in Early Espresso ink on 2-3/4 x 4 Basic White cardstock, then color with Stampin' Blends markers.

9. Diecut colored flowers and adhere to cardfront.

10. Adhere 4 x 5-1/4 white cardstock to inside, stamp small flower in Bumblebee ink and sentiment in Early Espresso.

Triple Opening Card

 I saw this card from a Demo in France (Christine Fejard) and loved it. There were no measurements or directions, and she called it a Double Shutter Card. When I searched for that type of card, it didn't look anything like this. I have directions for a Double Shutter but it didn't look like this either, so I winged it. I got out some scrap DSP and retired cardstock to experiment with. I measured and cut and worked until I got it to look like Christine's card, but I'm not sure the operation is the same. I like though! I'm calling it a Triple Opening Card.

All measurements in inches

1. Two Piece Base: Basic White 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored @ 4-1/4.

   Basic White 2-3/4 x 5-1/2 score on the short side @ 1/2” adhere this scored section to the back of the larger piece on the left.

2. Starry Sky 4 x 5-1/4 layer on outside of larger base.

   DSP (Tahitan Tide print) 3-3/4 x 5 adhere on top of Starry Skylayer

3. Starry Sky 5-1/4 x 2 for the left front flap

   DSP 5 x 1-3/4 adhere on top of Starry Sky layer If desired: for inside the left front flap repeat Starry Sky layer and DSP layers

4. Mini Card that attaches to the front: 5-1/2 x 3-1/2 score on long side @2-3/4 and adhere to back of small flap on card base. Starry Sky layer 2-1/2 x 3-1/4 DSP layer 2-1/4 x 3

5. Diecut Tahitian Tide cup, then diecut the leaf pattern for cup in Basic White. Adhere to front with dimensionals.

6. Diecut lemon and sections from Crushed Curry and So Saffron, adhere to top of cup.

7. Stamp in Starry Sky onto Basic White then Diecut teabag and adhere to Baker's Twine with glue dots, then attach the teabag with a dimensional.

8. Stamp sentiment on Basic White and adhere to front.

9. Stamp sentiment on the inside and stamp other images for decoration.

Fun Folds!!

 These are easy fun folds! The first fold has been floating around the internet for quite a while. I got it from fellow Demo Tara Carpenter, who got it from someone on Pinterest. Isn't it just the cutest thing? Both cards use the Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper and the Cup of Tea Bundle

All measurements in inches.

1. For the base, cut a piece of Sweet Sorbet cardstock 5-1/4 x 5 1/2" scored at 1.”  Adhere a piece of Stampin' Up Tea Boutique DSP to the small flap.  

2. Cut a piece of Basic White cardstock at 3 x 7 then score on the short side at 3, 3-1/2 and 4.”  Fold it in half, then fold the top scored line back. Adhere it to the small flap of the card base with Stampin' Up Tear & Tape. 

3. After stamping the following, die cut all the pieces with Stampin' Up Teacup Dies.

• Stamp the teacup on Blushing Bride card stock with Sweet Sorbet ink.  

• Stamp the leaves with Garden Green ink on a piece of Parakeet Party card stock.  

• Stamp flowers on Basic White cardstock with Crushed Curry and Sweet Sorbet ink.  

• Stamp teabag tag on Basic White cardstock with Tuxedo Black ink.

4. Attach a piece of Baker's Twine to the back of the teabag tag, and then behind the teacup with glue dots.

5. Adhere the tea bag tag to the front of the teacup with Stampin' Dimensionals.

6. Adhere the flowers and teacup to the 3 x 7 White card front with liquid adhesive. 

7. Embellish the front with enamel dots.  

8. Apply Tear & Taper to the top of the 3 x 7 card front (between the score line and the folded edge. Then apply it to the back of the flap on the Sweet Sorbet Card Base, making sure to center it and allow room to open the white folded card.

9. To attach a piece of DSP 5-1/2 x 4 behind the 3 x 7 mini card, apply a piece of
   Tear & Tape on the back of the the 3 x 7 mini card. Next center the DSP with the Sweet Sorbet cardbase, close the flap and adhere.

10. Stamp the sentiment with Starry Sky ink on the inside of the small white panel.  

11. Die cut a piece of So Saffron and DSP (with an adhesive sheet on it) to create a lemon wedge.  Adhere the lemon to the inside.

12. A piece of Basic White 4 x 5-1/4 a sentiment with Sweet Sorbet ink is used for the inside of the card.  Adhere a strip of DSP toward the bottom.

Dimensions:

    Sweet Sorbet: 5-1/2 x 5-1/4 scored at 4-1/4

    Parakeet Party: 2 x 3

    Basic White: 5-3/8 x 4-1/8

3 x 7 scored at 3, 3-1/2 and 4 

    DSP : 5-3/8 x 7/8 (2) and 5-1/2 x 4

All measurements in inches.

1. Card Base: Orchid Oasis 8 x 5-3/4 score on the long side @ 2-1/8, 4-1/4

2. Starry Sky 5-7/8 x 3 score on the long side @ 1-3/4, and 3-7/8. Accordion fold this piece and you will have three sections.

• To attach this piece, put adhesive along about an inch of the back of the first section of card stock and adhere it to the DSP front flap.

• Put adhesive on the entire back of the last section and close the card to adhere it to the inside .

3. Cut two pieces of Basic White 2-3/4 x 1-7/8 and 2-3/4 x 1-3/4. Use the largest piece on the center section.

4. Cut DSP 5-1/2 x 1-7/8

5. Basic White for teacup detail

6. In Color Glimmer Paper can be used for teacup die. I don't have any yet, so I used white glimmer paper and colored it with ink and a sponge brayer.

Sneek Peak and Faux Center Step Card

T Panel Fold

• on long side score at: 1-15/16, 3-7/8, 5-13/16 and 7-3/4

• with the left edge at 1-1/2 on the paper trimmer, cut from the first to the third score line, then flip to the other side and repeat

ALL PIECES NEEDED:

Corner Fold Tuck Card

I have a fun fold tutorial for you today. I used the Free As A Bird Stamp set and Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper to create this Corner Fold Tuck.

1. Card base: Fresh Freesia 8 x 4-1/4 score @ 2-1/2

2. Flowering Fields DSP 3 x 3 cut on paper trimmer from corner to corner. Use one triangle, glue to a triangle of cardstock; 3 x 3 cardstock (cut the same way), then adhere to top right of card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

3. DSP 1 x 4 adhere to left front flap, then tie ribbon around flap and secure into a knot.

4. Stamped front panel: 3 x 3 Basic White, secured on the left side to the front flap so that the top right corner fits under the triangle.

5. Inside: 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 Basic White, line up with the stamped front panel and secure to the inside panel, behind the front stamped panel.

6. If coloring the stamped front panel with Stampin' Blends, it will bleed through, so you can cover it with DSP.

Mountain Air Fun Fold

 Mountain Air is such a great stamp set for masculine cards. It can be found in our Annual Catalog on page 16.

1. Card Base: Evening Evergreen 4-1/8 x 11-1/12, Score in half and cut 2" off card front, to be used as flap

2. The cut off flap needs to be scored to adhere to back of card base. Score @1/2” on one short side.

3. Adhere the flap to the right side of the back of the card base, about ½ inch from the edge.

4. Outside left card front: Basic White 3-1/4 x 4. Stamp greeting in Evening Evergreen, mountains and moon in Gray Granite. Adhere to card front.

5. Diecut one tree and adhere to 1-3/4 x 3-1/2 Basic White. Wrap Linen Thread around bottom and tie in a bow. Then adhere to the front of the flap.

6. Inside piece of Basic White 4 x 5-1/4, stamped with trees and greeting. I added the moon and birds to cover up ink splotches.

7. Stamp trees on envelope

Delft Inspired Center Step Card

 I collect Delft and blue and white porcelain, so this Designer Series Paper is the Bomb for me! This fun fold is called a Center Step card and the tutorial to make it is below.

1. Use Trimmer and 4-1/4 x 11 card stock for card base. You want to cut one inch from each side. To do this: place your cardstock in the trimmer lengthwise, with the 4-1/4 side across the top; the left edge of the card should be lined up at 3-1/4. Use the measurements on the cutting arm, cut from 4-1/2 to 10. Then with the left side on 1 inch, use measurements on the cutting arm, cut from 4-1/2 to 10 again.

2. Use the diagram below and score along the dotted lines – on the center strip at 5 1/2″ and along the two outer strips at 1,″ 2,″ and 6 1/2.”

3. For the large stamped section cut desired color cardstock to 1-7/8 x 4 1/4 then stamp

4. Adhere the two strips of 3/4 x 4-1/2 Designer Series Paper to the outer sides of the card base

5. Attach a 7/8 x 4-1/8 strip of any color cardstock or Designer Series Paper along the bottom front.

6. Adhere 2 x 4-3/8 piece to center portion of card front. This can be stamped or embossed.

7. For the inside cut 4 x 4-1/4 Vanilla or Basic White
