Felicitous Fern Frames

What does felicitous mean? Didn't think you were going to get a vocabulary lesson today? lol Here's your word for the day:

Felicitous working out well; fitting; prosperous; successful; marked by good luck; happy; delightful; exhibiting an agreeably style or manner.


To make these cards, I started out with white 4-1/4 5-1/2 inch cardstock. I randomly stamped the fern image in Versamark ink and heat embossed. Then I used sponges to apply inks right over top for a lovely resist. To make the frame I started with the largest rectangle, skipped two rectangles and used the 4th size down from the largest. After cutting away the center, I adhered it in an offset manner. The greeting is another rectangle, wrapped with Linen Thread and popped out with a dimensional. Pearls go with anything to complete the card.

Double Easel Card

Here is another double easel card. The tutorial for this type card is in this post. 

• On watercolor paper use an Aqua Painter with Petal Pink and Powder Pink inks to create a wash for the background.
• Cut the framelit from Stitched Labels from watercolor paper, then use the same procedure to wash color on it too.
• Stamp the flowers in Flirty Flamingo Ink and then use a Sponge Dauber in Mango Melody to the center of each flower.
• For the larger leaf, use the same technique with Lemon Lime Twist and Shaded Spruce inks for shading.
• Cut two stamped palm fronds and cut one from Call Me Clover cardstock.
• Use the seed stamp from the set with Petal Pink Ink in the background. Then layer all the pieces, use dimensionals for the flowers.
• Stamp thank you in Memento Tuxedo Black, then fussy cut.
• Finish it with some glitter enamel dots.
