Preview of the Aug-Dec Mini Catalog

The coordinating products available in the Poinsettia Suite are simply gorgeous! The DSP on this card is FLOCKED and it's soooooo beautiful. Click on the image to see the beaded pearls close up. The upcoming mini catalog has tree red velvet paper too, which will make lovely poinsettias. I didn't notice it when I made my Demo pre order, but I quickly placed another order to get some!

Prized Peony in Magenta Madness

For this peony, I sponged each flower piece in Magenta Madness ink, then I ever so gently curled then outwards with a bone folder. I stamped the largest flower onto a white die-cut in Old Olive ink. Then I guess my peony on top of the stamped images.

Bargello Technique Revisited

The Bargello is a needlepoint stitch with a zigzag pattern used in 17th century upholstery. Today, this technique is used by quilters who create breathtaking works of art.

The Bargello technique in paper crafting has been around for a long time. I first saw it in the 90s, and back then, we made it with strips of colored cardstock that we then sponged ink and stamped on and black and gold.

This is a modern update and I've used designer series paper, and the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set, dies, and DSP. Stampin' Up's adhesive sheets make this process super easy.
Begin by cutting two or more patterns into 1/4" strips.

Adhere the strips to a piece of cardstock. You need to use a strong adhesive and make sure every bit of a strip stays down.

Turn the paper so that the strips lay horizontally. Then cut into 1/2" strips.

Play around with a pattern until you like it. Next, adhere strips as you did before, then trim your finished piece.
