Four Square Pop Out Card

This card was inspired by Jan Brown a Stampin' Up! Demoonstrator from the UK. It's such a fun fold and not at all complicated to make. I used several FREE products that you can earn from SALE-A-BRATION: Lovely Lily Pad Stamp Set, Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper, Lily Pad Dies, and the Stone 3D Embossing Folder from the Power of Hope Bundle. All measurements in inches.
  1. Cut Pretty Peacock cardstock for the card base 4-1/4 x 11, score at 5-1/2
  2. Inside the card base adhere two 4 x 5-1/4 pieces of Highland Heather, one on each side
  3. Cut 1-3/8 x 11 piece of Pretty Peacock, score at 2-3/4, 5-1/2, 8-1/4 for the pop up mechanism. Fold accordion style: valley, mountain, valley.
  4. Put glue on the back side of the first section the mechanism and adhere it on the inside of the card, on the left side, lining it up with the edge of the Highland Heather cardstock NOT the edge of the Pretty Peacock card base.
  5. Put glue on the back side of the 4th section of the accordion piece (no glue on sections two and three). Adhere it on the inside of the card, on the right side, lining up with the edge the Heather layer NOT the edge of the Peacock cardstock.
  6. Because the edges of the pop up mechanism are lined up with the Heather layer, your piece will not lay flat when open, it will have a small raised “mountain” in the center. This will make the inside pieces pop out when the card is opened instead of collapsing in and laying flat.
  7. Adhere four pieces of Pretty Peacock cardstock cut 2-1/4 x 2-1/4 squares inside of the card on the pop out mechanism. Make sure that you only place adhesive in the center of the squares so the card does not get glued shut.
  8. To line the squares, cut three pieces of the DSP and one piece of Whisper White cardstock that measure 2 x 2 inches. Stamp greeting at the bottom of the white piece.
  9. Diecut two lily detail pieces. Glue the small one above the greeting and the larger on on top of the DSP on the last panel.
  10. On the front emboss peacock 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 cardstock, then adhere to card front.
  11. To make the angled panel, first lay a piece of the Lily Impressions DSP across the card base in the angled position that you like. Then flip it over and trace the back of the DSP so you will know where to cut. Then adhere the panel to a piece of Highland Heather card stock – lining up the two straight sides to create the “normal” mat edge. Use your Paper Trimmer to cut off the excess card stock – eyeballing the mat size.
  12. Stamp the lily pads in Mossy Meadow ink on to DSP and die cut.
  13. Stamp three lilies in Blackberry Bliss ink on to DSP and die cut.
  14. Diecut the two detailed flowers and the lacy panel from Highland Heather.
  15. Assemble as shown use Stampin' Dimensionals for the flowers.
  16. On the back, adhere a piece of 4 x 5-1/4 Whisper White that has been stamped with the sentiment. Adhere a strip of DSP on the bottom.
