Leaf Prints

Just before leaving on vacation, I made this card. I really like this stamp set. There's something about leaves that show the veins or are leaf prints that really capture the artistry in nature. There used to be a company in the Pacific Northwest that produced prints from fish, leaves and flowers. Oh how I loved those images! I did leaf and fish prints with my students when teaching science and they loved the art connection.

Leaves, Leaves, Leaves!

I really love leaves for stamping, and I'm not quite sure just why. I guess it's a nature thing, you know flowers, plants, animals. Anyway I also prefer realism in stamp images and this stamp set fits the bill. In this card I stamped the image on my Stamparatus with Pool Party ink, then applied some Bermuda Bay ink with a Sponge Dauber and finally added some Mossy Meadow. The Stamparatus makes it so easy to add multiple colors to a stamp with Sponge Daubers. After applying the colors, I embossed it with the Timeworn Type folder. The layer behind, is DIY DSP... that is I made my own designer paper with stamped images. I used the White Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon because I can color it any shade I like with a Stampin' Blend, our incredible alcohol ink markers.

Christmas Door

This fun fold card will be for my niece and her family at Christmas. It was a bit time consuming, but soooo worth it. Don't you think?

I used the Leaves of Holly Bundle, and coordinating papers and inks.

Thanks to Sue Campfield for translating the measurements for this card to the Imperial System we use in the US.

August Card Ministry

We made some cards for the church staff, discussed restaurants, and had fun today! Below are three cards we made and I can just imagine the reactions of the people who receive them. We've had such wonderful feedback from members of the congregation who get handmade cards. And you know it's a God Thing when a retired Coast Guard Officer gets one with a nautical theme. His wife said he had it on the mantle for the longest time! We are truely blessed to be able to share this gift with others. I've got some cardstock in retired colors that we used this time (Misty Moonlight and Bumblebee) these designs would work with other colors as well.
