Preponderance of Poppies This Week

I want to share a technique with you that is super easy and will add depth to diecuts that you use on your projects. I learned how to do this from fellow Demonstrator, Rick Adkins. Rick has a great eye for color, which shows in his work. I love the often unexpected combinations he comes up with, which inspires me to think outside of the box too. After gluing the flower parts together, you simply use a sponge dauber to add some more color. That's it! And I love how the addition of Craft White ink adds to the depth of color value.

Positively Pretty Poppies

This has to be one of my most favorite sets of all time, and I just don't get tired of it! I've made mostly red poppies, but today I decided to try something different. First I choose two colors, Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo, then decided on the Tin Tile embossing folder and voila instant pretty with no fancy layout. After gluing the flower pieces together, I simply played around with them on the card until I found an arrangement that I liked. This is called 'dry fitting.' I don't know about you, but if I put adhesive on the pieces first...... it's a disaster! lol
