Modified Gate Fold

This card begins as a gate fold, then two flaps are added to the gates. I learned how to make it from fellow Demo, Mary Deatheridge. It goes together pretty quickly.

  • You begin with an 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Flirty Flamingo card base.
  • With the long side across the top, score at 2-1/8" from each end. This will make the gate fold, 2-1/8" being half of the 4-1/4" width of a standard card.
  • Cover the gates with Petal Pink cardstock measuring 2" x 5-3/8" then layer DSP on top of that measuring 1-7/8" x 5-1/4"
  • For the two flaps that are attached to the 'gates' you cut 2 pieces of Flirty Flamingo cardstock measuring 4" x 2-3/8" and mount DSP on top of each that measures 3-7/8" x 2-1/4"
  • Attach the top flap on the left side of the gate, and the bottom flap on the right side of the gate
  • You can cover the inside panels with DSP as well. The center should be white, so that the sentiment and your signature can be easily read.

Floral Designs

I'm still in love with this bundle!
On the first card I used Pool Party as the card base with the DSP cut to 4 x 5-1/4. The Acetate and Pretty Peacock layer is cut to 2-1/2 x 3 I adhered the acetate to the cardstock with a couple glue dots placed below the die cuts so that they wouldn't show. The large flower is stamped in Flirty Flamingo and Poppy Parade, while the leaves are stamped in Mossy Meadow. The smaller flowers were inked first in So Saffron, then I used a sponge dauber to apply Old Olive on the leaves and the highlight was stamped with Bumblebee. The greeting was stamped in Pretty Peacock, and I finished the card off with Glimmer Dots, Linen Thread and Metallic Trim,

This card has a Seaside Spray card base and a 4 x 5-1/4 Tasteful Textile embossed layer of Seaside Spray as well. Next there's a 3 x 4 layer of that pretty gold pattern acetate. The flowers were stamped in Flirty Flamingo and the flower center stamp was inked with Poppy Parade. The leaves were sponged with Old Olive ink. I strip of ribbon and a punched border anchor the design, over which the greeting is adhered.

Another Fun Fold

Here's another fun fold that is really simple to make. I used the new Art Gallery bundle and the coordinating Fine Art Floral  DSP. All measurements below are in inches. On the inside I added a bit of fun glimmer. I applied the gilded leafing to a die cut that has a flourish look. I thought it was a bit of fun that also tied to the gold on the ribbon.

  • card base is So Saffron cut 4-1/4 x 5-1/2
  • DSP layer is 4 x 5-1/4
  •  flap/opening part is So Saffron cut 4 x 6 score @ 3
  • DSP strip on flap front is 5/8 x 4
  • white inside 2-3/4 x 3-3/4
