Dashing Deer in the Woods

After I got out my white craft ink and painted spots on the "fawn," I realized it had antlers. FAWNS DON'T HAVE ANTLERS. Why is this significant? Because I'm a country girl, and the men in my family hunt. I should know this!!! Better make sure I send this to one of my city friends lol!

Halloween Treats!

Let's talk about treat holders or favors today. One of the things I like to do is use the bags and boxes that Stampin' Up! sells and doll them up with designer series paper, die cuts and ribbon. This makes a quick and easy treat holder. Also when a thinlit comes out to make a container, that's a quick way to make something cute. These are the Kraft Pillow Boxes dolled up with some circles, ribbon, stamps and DSP.

Halloween Treat Holders

I got this idea from a fellow Demo in Australia, Karen Robinson. They were so cute I just had to add this to my collection of treat holders. Again, here is that AMAZING designer series paper, Toil and Trouble. I've had the MOST fun creating with this paper! This little bag/box  is 3-1/2″ x 1-3/4″ x 1″ and holds a fun size candy bar. I think that's what they were called. The Dollar Store had Snickers, M&M's, Twix and Reeses', making this a very affordable little piece of fun for the adults in my life. Kids are grown, so I like to spread sunshine to adults now!

  • DSP: 6″ x 6″
  • If your paper has a directional pattern to it, place the top of the design to the right side on your Scoring Tool and score at 1″ & 4-1/2.″ (The 4-1/2" score line will be the top of the bag.)
  • Turn 90º counter clockwise
  • Score at 1″, 2-3/4″, 3-3/4″ & 5-1/2″
  • Fold and burnish all score lines
  • With the 4 score lines running vertically cut up each of them to the 1″ horizontal score line to create the base, remove the small tab on one side
  • Turn 180º
  • Remove the small rectangle from left side tab, keep the next section, cut up to the 4-1/2″ score line to create the flap, remove the remaining sections
  • Round the lid corners with corner rounder
  • Add adhesive to the side tab and base sections and assemble
  • Pinch the top closed to create gusseted sides, secure with a tiny clothespin, decorative clip or paper clip
  • Decorate as desired

The red lines indicate where you cut mitered edges so that your flaps will fit nicely

When all cut and folded, this is what your box/bag looks like

Lacy Thank You

This is a girly card. To me the coordinating Thinlits give such a lacy, feminine feel. I began by creating a wash on watercolor paper with inks and an Aqua Painter.

Spooky Sweets

The Toil and Trouble designer series paper is so adorably cute! I like that, because I do not like scarey Halloween stuff. Even as a kid, I NEVER wanted to dress up as anything scarey. For my first Halloween my Mom made the cutest bunny costume. I remember her stuffing the ears with paper bags to make them stand up. After that I was a fairy, or a princess every year. Finally Aunt Norma and Mom convinced me to be something else.....I agreed to a witch, but only if it was Wanda the Wich on the hairspray commercials!
So, when I saw the cute little witchy poos on this paper, I just giggled out loud! I fussy cut my images on this card from that paper, BUT you can order the Toil and Trouble Thinlit dies to cut them out! How cool is that?? I have a close up of this cute paper below as well as the entire suite of products.

Those frogs would be so cute on a kids card, the purple stripes and green dos would work for any occassion and wouldn't the stars be perfect for Harry Potter fans?
