Florals

I simply adore flowers. I can not get enough of them, in real life, in stamping or on my canvases. I just hung another giant oriental poppy in the master bedroom. It hangs next to another giant poppy, making a pair of colorful florals inside the room. When we look out the window, we can see two large flower beds.

Remember when I said that you could put gilded leafing on ribbon? Well I saw this card that Tami Hewlett, one of the Stampin' Up! Artisans made and I just had to CASE it. However, I didn't have that gold/burlap ribbon, but I did have some retired Classic Weave Ribbon. I applied some splatter shapes of Multipurpose glue and let it dry until it was tacky. Then I pressed on some leafing, used my paint brush to brush away the extra, and voila! Gilded ribbon! Here is Tami's card. I really had fun playing with ink and my Water Painters to create the background pieces. It's the first time I used the BIG Water Painter, it was perfect to make a watercolor wash with Pacific Point ink. First, I used Shimmery White cardstock because it holds up to watercolor use. Next I added some splotches of water for lighter areas and more ink splotches for darker areas. To add a bid of leafing, I used the splatter stamp from the Painted Poppies stamp set and VersaMark ink. Heat & Stick powder then the heat tool and finally the leafing.

3D Art Gallery Card

I've shown y'all this gorgeous bundle (Art Gallery) and the coordinating Designer Series Paper. Well there's more to the story than just pretty stuff. Just look at what they can DO!

First of all, two sheets of the Golden Garden Designer Speciality Acetate have the same pattern (lines up with) as two of the DSP sheets. When you line them up, the cards are truely lovely!

Now Here it is stepped up a bit further.

I made this card kind of 3D using Foam Strips. It's kind of like a shaker card with no shakers. Who needs shakers when you have this gorgeous paper! The effect is perfectly STUNNING!

  • I lined up the actate with the DSP, then cut with Stitched Rectangle Dies.
  • I adhered to Petal Pink card base.
  • I then cut a frame from Flirty Flamingo with Rectangles.
  • I used foam strips to adhere the acetate to the top of the DSP.
  •  Finally, I used Tear & Tape to attach the frame on top of the acetate.
