Why Adult Coloring Books?

These images were so much fun to color! Who needs adult coloring books that just sit useless in their bound pages when you can use stamps and create cards to send to family and friends? You can color stamped images with  Stampin' Up! inks and a Blender pen or Aqua Painter, or you can also use colored pencils or Copic Markers. Stamps are more fun than a coloring book because you can choose your images and put them together any way you like. There's room for much more creatively using stamps! When designing  your own adult coloring therapy with stamps, the type of ink pad you use DOES make a difference.

Black: Memento vs StazOn … What’s the difference?
Opposites Attract.
Water-based coloring method – Use StazOn (alcohol-based ink)
Alcohol-based coloring method – Use Memento (water-based ink)

Memento Tuxedo Black Pad and the Jet Black StazOn Pad.  If you just want to stamp something in black, you can use either one. If you’re going to color in an image, it’s very important to pick the right type of ink based on what you are going to use to apply color to the stamped image.

If you’d like to color with an Aqua Painter or blender pen then you are using water. Therefore, you want to use the Jet Black StazOn pad. The Memento pad is water-based. That means that if you wipe water across it, it will smear. The StazOn pad is alcohol based. That means it won’t smear when you watercolor.

If you are using Copic markers, you want to use the Memento Pad. If you use alcohol-based markers on an image stamped with an alcohol-based ink pad like StazOn, your image will smear.
